Manual Gearboxes and transaxles supplied as low-mileage, used, by API are thoroughly checked for any roughness of the bearings and loseness in the gearshift mechanism or lift in any of the shafts running into or through the `box'. Customer satisfaction on used units is high with no noticeable level of complaint. Warranty on a used transmission is 3 months/3000 miles.
Automatic transmissions are sold on the same basis as the manual transmissions are supplied with the torque converter. In all cases the oil pan will have been removed and the filter screens checked for blockage or debris.

Some transmissions are sold as an exchange unit. Exchange units are rebuilt at Banbury by the transmission department and are offered with a 6 months/6000 miles warranty.
